the gift of true friendship

I love to read
not just for information
I enjoy it, savor it
different expressions
different perspectives

it can open your heart
to glorious possibilities

Hugh Black writes:
The divine meaning of a true friendship is that it is often the1st unveiling of the secret of love. It is not an end in itself, but has most of its worth in what it leads to, the priceless gift of seeing with the heart rather than with the eyes.
To love 1 soul for its beauty & grace & truth is to open the way to appreciate all beautiful & true & gracious souls, and to recognize spiritual beauty wherever it is seen.
Friendship is a gift from God!

  1. Christ,
who always took the highest ground in his estimate of people and
never once put man’s capacity for the noble on a low level,
made the high-water mark of human friendship the standard
    of His own great action:
“Love each other as I have loved you.
Greater love has no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
